Caroline has loved pickled onions since childhood hiding massive jars under her bed. At family gatherings, she would fill her plate with them, sit in a corner eating, and then convince others to pile extra on their plate, all for her. Caroline was constantly looking out for the perfect pickled onion.
When living overseas, Caroline couldn’t find anything like an English pickled onion. So she decided to make her own. Then she hosted pickled onion-tasting parties where serious pickled onion fans could indulge their obsession. Huge jars would be emptied in one night.
When Caroline returned to the UK after fifteen years in Japan, she shared her creations with friends and neighbours, who convinced Caroline that they had to be sold. Caroline now sells around 25,000 jars annually across forty different lines, not just pickles but also chutneys and jams. She is a regular at Cirencester Markets and supplies around ninety independent shops, mainly in The Cotswolds, but some as far north as Cumbria and as far south as Devon. Now also taking online orders.
Auntie Caroline’s product range uses EAN-13 barcodes and has done since 2018.
